Francisca is a registered nurse, critical care nurse and a Credentialled Diabetes Educator (CDE).
Credentialled Diabetes Educators are healthcare practitioners qualified to provide a client-centred approach to diabetes education and care, empower patients and assist 1.7 millions Australians in dealing with daily self-management, in accordance with the National Standards of Practice for CDEs. There are only 1,100 CDEs in Australia at the moment. (Australian Diabetes Educators Association)
Francisca has more than 35 years of nursing experience working in various areas (medical, midwifery, paediatric, radiology, critical care nursing: emergency, coronary care and intensive care) within the public health sector (both overseas and in Melbourne). After obtaining the Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education in 2006, Francisca has been working as a diabetes educator in the public health sector. From 2011 onwards, she has expanded her experience in private diabetes education.
Area of practice:
Her clients are varied, ranging from Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 diabetes, newly diagnosed and known diabetes who require updated information and assists them in improving their diabetes self-management skills.
Francisca provides diabetes education assessment, patient education and support (healthy eating for people with diabetes, individualized goals for managing their diabetes and living well with diabetes to prevent or delay diabetes complications) including using resources in multiple languages and pictorial guides, home blood glucose monitoring, education regarding medication and provides advice regarding treatment options. Francisca also provides insulin and GLP1 initiation and education.
She can deliver service fluently in English and Chinese.
Francisca is passionate about empowering her clients to undertake self-management, assisting her clients in managing their diabetes to the best of their ability- using a client-centred, evidence based approach to tailor the support and education provided to each individual.

Simon has been a physiotherapist since 1983. During the first 10 years of his career,Simon worked at different hospitals both overseas and in Australia. He has acquired extensive experience in treating various conditions.
For the last 17 years, Simon has been practising privately in Dandenong. He has post graduate qualifications in Spinal Manipulative Therapy and in Rehabilitation studies.

After graduating from University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Podiatry), Calvin had the unique opportunity of undertaking clinical placement at Liverpool Hospital and Caulfield Hospital, both of which are renowned for their specialisation in high risk foot management. Since graduating, Calvin practiced Podiatry in a variety of locations around Melbourne, ranging from private practice, geriatric and domiciliary Podiatry.
Calvin provides treatment, management and advice on all aspects of podiatric care, but has a keen interest in the management of diabetic and high risk foot care, specialising in ulcers and infection of the feet.
Calvin is a Member of The Australian Podiatric Association.

Matthew Saunders is a registered psychologist with over 17 years’ experience. For over 12 years he worked predominantly in large training hospitals such as The Royal Children’s Hospital and the Austin Hospital. He has also been appointed as a “Regulation 7 Officer” (expert witness) to the Federal Family Court.
Matthew has a strong evidence based orientation having a cognitive behavioural approach to his work. His specific area of interest is adults suffering from depression, anxiety and/or significant life adjustments. He has considerable expertise with children, adolescents and young adults; specifically individual psychotherapeutic treatment, and child focused dyadic parent work. He also has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of a range of child and adolescent psychologically based conditions and a strong family orientation together with working closely with schools and other referring professionals.
